As a UK resident and having read how communist Russia rode roughshod over the now free peoples of eastern Europe either overturning the 1945 -1965 election results where the communist share of the vote was as low as 7%, or prohibiting free elections, I have every sympathy for US actions in preventing the further spread of communism in the countries you have named in your question.
Possibly only Canada and USA would be the only non-communist countries in the world today if the USA policy had been different.
