Beginning on day one in the U.S. Navy you will be observed and evaluated! Provided you are a top performer and show a propensity for leadership - your chances of working toward an officer training program are quite good. There are very many avenues toward becoming a Naval Officer. Just to name a few - Annapolis (need to be single), Officer Candidate school, and several enlisted to officer (mustang) programs.
Once again, it all depends on you! If your a hard charger, take on the challenging jobs and succeed, your chances to be selected for an Officer Candidate Programs is excellent. But, if your the average worker, drift along non-achiever you can forget it.
Talk to your recruiter and he'll give you the straight story. Hope your ready for a lot of sea time because that's what the navy is all about.
