One breath is assumed to be lung volume. Thus volume is 1.5 L. That contains 4% CO2. Hence you can calculate the volume of CO2 (4% of 1.5 L).

The density of CO2 is 1.8. So if voulume of CO2 is in liters, then multiply by 1.8 to get the mass in grams.
