Why do stores put like 1.99 or .99 as the price of something?
You know how stores put 99 cents instead of a dollar as the price. Why not just put 2.00 instead of 1.99 or put 1.00 instead of .99? Really random question, i know. I'm curious.

Stores use this as a psychological technique. Customers tend to ignore the cents without rounding up, making them see "$2" and "$1" instead of "$2.00" and "$1.99".

because it looks cheaper than saying 2.00 or 1.00
