If you drop your phone into water, and it won't work, can Verizon still track it if it has GPS?

    It is for the E991, but also to establish connection when using certain features T B. But, no unless it is on it's untrackable.

    If your phone is not powered up...or has basically been destroyed via can't be tracked. Otherwise....a powered on functioning phone can give a general location to the authorities via cell site triangulation. The phone communicates with the local towers whether you are talking on it or not. The phone does this in order to determine the closest tower and provide you with consistant service.

    Verizon can not really track it at all, it is for E911 so that you can be located if you make a 911 call. If you ever lose your phone it is not able to be "tracked".

    If the phone isn't on, they cannot track it.
