Religious fundamentalist will point to any precipitation falling anywhere in the state as proof that the prayers worked. I guess coincidence never figured in their thinking.

The Weather Channel said Georgia received 1/2 inch of rain in certain areas. Tennessee and North Carolina got rain also.

If you received any rain, you'd better be thankful. Your attitude is bad and God controls the rain.

The pain and sorrow of this present world, along with severe weather, demonstrates an imperfect world.

You might read Leviticus 26:19-20 (rainless sky, parched earth) Deuteronomy 28:24 (drought punishment) 11 Samuel 21:1 (drought and famine)

You've got the drought and you certainly don't want the famine.

I saw the news and it did, in fact, rain in Georgia this week. It was trenchial rains as I saw it with my own eyes, but only for a short time, however, for a governor to pray for rain---God just does not work in this manner for those asking for something who are not practicing godly standards----unless it is something within its will.

I would suggest to you that there were those praying for rain and who are righteous in their hearts, but the prayers of the wicked ones He, God, is far away.

    Proverbs 15: 29

    ----------------------

Jehovah is far away from the wicked ones, but the prayer of the righteous ones he hears.

Furthermore, the Bible warns us to steer clear of political matters and not be put our trust into earthling nobles (politicians), so did he really hear the prayer of the Governor because politicians are not correct in their conduct, and we all know Satan is the ruler of this world pushing corruptness in most all political matters. Did the Governor really pray? And if he did, why does he need to broadcast it to the world?

We don't boast about our prayers to God, so it is very suspicious of the Governor in the first place. We pray in private or in a mass congregational setting where the elder will lead his flock in prayer. Boasting about one's prayers on TV is detestable to God.

    Psalms 146: 3 - 6

    -------------------------

Do not put YOUR trust in nobles,

Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.

    His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground;

In that day his thoughts do perish.

Happy is the one who has the God of Jacob for his help,

Whose hope is in Jehovah his God,

The Maker of heaven and earth,

Of the sea, and of all that is in them,

The One keeping trueness to time indefinite,

    -----------------------------

The prayers that were heard by God are those from "true Christians" who are praying for something (like rain) that is within God's will----as his will was for us to be healthy, fruitful and fill the earth, so true Christians praying for something within God's will, he will certainly hear their prayers.

I live in north Geogia. We got a downpour- the first real rain in weeks.

If God intends for us to get more rain, or rain in other areas, He will make it happen in His own time.

Faith is closely related to delusion, so when people think there faith is failing they are able to deluded themselves into thinking that it isn't. There was a study done at a university in California that clearly showed the mental connection between faith and delusion.
