    Achieve is a verb, and it means to get something you have worked toward..such as -

    After many hard years work, she achieved her doctorate degree.


    After exercising for years, she achieved her 30-pound weight loss.


    All students should study hard to achieve the goal of passing on to the next grade level.

    The word achieve just means to accomplish a task or goal or to be honored with like an award.

    Example: John achieved perfect attendance in school.
