Why "would"? The Pope DID say a few things to Martin Luther, and in writing, too...
On June 15, 1520, Pope Leo X signed a bull (the Pope-speak for a directive) called Exsurge Domine, which urged Luther to retract 41 of his statements (mostly from his 95 theses, but also from his other writings and public statements) within sixty days of its publication or face excommunication. The ultimatum expired on December 10, 1520, but no retraction by Luther followed. So on January 3, 1521, the Pope issued another bull, Decet Romanum Pontificem, in which Luther's excommunication was announced...

i do not care myself what he says for he is not the true authority of anything he is but a self exalted position made up by a false religion!!! i believe the word of the living GOD in his word the KING JAMES VERSION OF THE HOLY BIBLE!!! no posers or impersonators!
