1.How are the differences in cell division in plant and animal cells related to the differences in the structures of plant and animal cells?

the differences: The greatest difference between plant and animal cells occurs at the cell membrane. The cell membrane of a typical plant cell is covered with a protective wall of cellulose. The cellulose makes the membrane stiff, and thus the plant cell's structure is very rigid. This gives plants stiffness, and allows them to grow tall. Cellulose is secreted by the plant cell's cytoplasm. Thus, the plant cell has a cell wall, while the animal cell does not. The plant's cell wall may also contain lignin, a component of wood. The cell wall allows a very large pressure to be built up inside the cell, through osmosis. Animal cells, on the other hand, have more flexible membranes. So animal cells are much more diverse in their shapes.

extra stuff on plant cell: cell wall

Plant cells contain a cell wall, which is a fairly rigid layer surrounding a

cell, located external to the cell membrane, providing the cell with

structural support, protection, and a filtering mechanism. The cell wall

also prevents over-expansion when water enters the cell. The major

carbohydrates making up the primary cell wall are cellulose,

hemicellulose, and pectin. The cellulose microfibrils are linked via

hemicellulosic tethers to form the cellulose-hemicellulose network,

which is embedded in the pectin matrix. The most common hemicellulose in the primary cell wall is

    xyloglucan.

a easy answer that i found on the difference between plant, animal cells

and its relation on thye cell division:

here it is sorry have to separate them = =

(part one)Plants do not have centrioles just centrosomes. Animal cells have centrioles, so as to what produces the spindle fibers is one of the differences between plant and animal mitosis.

    2007-11-07 15:30:24 補充:

(part two)The phases of mitosis and what goes on in each phase is the same except when it comes to how cytokinesis is accomplished. Plant cells divide the cytoplasm between the two new nuclei by forming a cell plate (new cell wall) between the nuclei.

    2007-11-07 15:31:53 補充:

(part three)Animal cells accomplish this by forming a cleavage furrow which is a pinching in at the middle of the cell until two new cells have been formed with cytoplasm and organelles for each new nuclei.

add the three parts together then you shall have you answer, hope it helps:)

    wow thats alot of words.....
