    1. 1925 - The apex of the Roaring 20s. Great music, great clothes, the world was still a mystery. F Scott Fitzgerald publishes the Great Gadsby. The Great Sphinx is unearthed. New York City becomes the world's largest city.

    2. 1903 - The Wright Brothers invent the airplane (how cool would it have been to read in a newspaper that people actually flew in a heavier then air vehicle16). Teddy Bear is invented.

    3. 1945 - I can only imagine the parties that happened during V-E and V-J day. The war was over and the boys were coming home. Ironically I would also put this on the ten worst years of the 20th century because of the dropping of the A-bombs on Japan and the Battle of Okinawa.

    4. 1957 - Elvis appears on the Ed Sullivan show and changes the face of American music forever. Sputnik is launched, initiating the space race.

    5. 1984 - The watershed year for Gen X'ers. Great movies. Great TV. A got to feel-up Misty McSpadden in the 8th grade! Michael Jackson's hair burns during a Pepsi commercial.

    6. 1989 - The Berlin Wall came down. The first Disney character to make guys say "Sexy" is introduced to America (Ariel: The Little Mermaid). The Simpsons begin.

    7. 1933 - Yes we were in the height of the Great Depression, but we could drink again!

    8. 1901 - Major League Baseball is formed.

    9. 1969 - Man lands on the moon. Woodstock.

    10. 1999 - Why not. Party over. Oops Out of Time.

For me it was the first ten years after I found my wife. I was a virgin until her. I enjoyed those 10 years more than any other decade in that century.

Historically, I would think the post-WWII explosion of the economy and baby boom would be the best decade of the century. Once again, giving up virginity was involved!

Your choosing individual years is impressive. But 1944 was a war year. I could not endorse war years! Did you mean 1945?

that's a good one. you would possibly want to even say the ninety's. The chilly conflict changed into over, there changed into relative peace and the commercial equipment changed into doing nicely. yet another one may be the 1920's for plenty of an analogous motives.

    1965 to1974

"Sex, Drugs and Rock&Roll" if you wished for them...."the pill" liberated Women....Pennicillin existed and HIV/AIDS didn't....and rich people like Geo Bush and Dick Cheney could easily draft dodge themselves right out of the VN War...and into conservative politics.and the music on the AM dial was fun to listen to....instead of that C**P of talk radio found on the AM dial today....If not for VN and the lack of Civil Rights for people of color it would have been pretty near perfect.....
