Walgreen's is a publicly traded company. Its stock symbol is "WAG".
I think that I may own some of it in a mutual fund.
So...technically......me and about 50 million other people.

Walgreens is a publicly traded company owned by stockholders, run by corporate offices, executives and managers. http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=WAG&d=t
The stores are all company owned. It's not a franchise operation.
