SUV- If you have kids or even yourself, would you rather be in a SUV or Corolla if you get into a wreck? I pay the little extra for gas because the safety of my kids is more important. If enviroment is important to you- then tell the government no more ethanol. It is 30% less efficient than gas. It takes 1,700 gallons of water to make 1 gallon of ethanol. And best yet it is worse on the ozone than gas. Also the livestock industry puts out more ozone gas than all transportation combined. Livestock 18% all transportation is 13.5% according to The United Nations.

I think you should go for a car. The benefits being more miles per gallon, more faishonable and managableBacking up a Car is much easier as compared to an SUV... Another thing most people dont know is that a Car has a much better suspension as compared to an SUV because an SUV is meant for off road conditions so its shockers are rigid . In the end all depends on what appeals you.... All the best!

In almost every case, the correct answer to "car or SUV" is "car." Even if AWD would be desirable, that's what Subarus are for.

There is no BEST car or SUV. There is only the best car or SUV for your needs. You haven't elaborated on that.

How much can you afford to spend? (THAT IS ALWAYS THE FIRST QUESTION YOU SHOULD ASK. Not asking this is what puts people in crippling debt, and cars are the second worst offender after homes. Except cars usually lose value much faster than a home ever could.)

Where do you live? (This matters when it comes to fuel economy...there are a lot of cars that get good highway fuel economy but terrible city economy. Like the Crown Victoria or the Thunderbird. Great in the country, terrible in major cities.)

How many people do you figure you'll regularly need to carry? (a 2 seater might be right out, and a 2+2 coupe or convertible isn't great for more than 2 people unless the people in the back are children)

What kind of stuff do you expect to be hauling in your car? (If you're regularly going to be hauling lumber and furniture and stuff, you want a hatchback, wagon, SUV, van, or pickup. If you don't expect to need to carry stuff like that more than once every few months, you can PROBABLY get away with a sedan. If you're going to be hauling nasty stuff frequently, you'll want a pickup. You can use a tarp to haul trash and dirt in ANY car, but it's not something you want to do regularly Note that with the top down, you can carry lumber in a convertible.)

Do you know how to drive stick? Do you prefer automatic?

Do you want a responsive, quick, sporty car? Or a cushy, soft, isolated car?

Do you commute long distances every day?

Do you live in a bad neighborhood? (Some cars are VERY popular with thieves.)

How long have you been driving? (this affects insurance rates. If you're 18 years old and going to buy a Mustang...don't. It also affects how likely you are to kill yourself with something really powerful or twitchy.)

What kind of options would you like to have? What kind of cars do you LIKE?

Without knowing any of that, it's impossible to say what the best car for someone is.

However, I can list off a couple of the best all-rounders:

    Mazda Protege 5

    Scion xB

    Subaru Legacy

    Subaru Forester

    Honda Accord wagon

    Ford Escort wagon

In my opinion, you would be better off buying an SUV because of all the room that they have. You should consider buying either a Nissan Rogue or Toyota RAV4.

You buy what you want! Here in Vegas you're judged by what you drive so you have to drive a nice car. Some place else, they might not care. I bought a Cadillac and it cost a fortune. It is worth every penny though. If I were you, I'll get a Lotus! About 60000. If you want a very cheap car, get a Hyundai. If you want something cheap and nice get a Honda Civic. We have one too. It's much better than a corolla, we have one too. better design, safer, better motor.

Go for a Chevy Cobalt starting at 14,330. They are stylish and unique-coming in a sedan or coupe with 3 engines, 2 body styles and 2 transmissions to choose from.

    Good Luck.

Cars are cheaper since they have better mpg, but if you have no sense for money, a mercedes s class for like $80,000 or a mercedes m class (suv) for like $70,000
