Do federal agencies hire prospects with a criminal justice degree from places like AIU online?

Are these degrees viewed as reputable?

For the Feds, State, or local city governments to recognize a degree, it has to be accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Most respected colleges are accredited by one or more of the 6 regional accreditation agencies. In addition, the other one that accepted is the Distance Education and Training Council (DETEC), but the problem with them is that it's harder to transfer to a regionally accredited school with a degree from a DETEC school. However, for getting a job in government, it's acceptable.

After doing a Google, looks like AIU was accredited but is currently on probation so that may be a problem if they lose their accreditation.

AIU is facing some real challenges right now, you may want to do some research.

As for your question; the government and military has been more accepting of more than RA accreditation and distance learning for many years. While there is still some question of acceptability among the business community, that is mostly eliminated in most government professions.

There is still some bias but this regards quality and reputation of the school more than whether it was online or not.
