The ghost tells Hamlet he has every reason to be angry and to want revenge - his father has been killed and the person who killed him entered into an incestuous relationship with his mother. Hamlet wants revenge but the ghost tells Hamlet to not to go there - to let his mom go to heaven where God will deal with her - and "thorns....etc" means that for as long as she lives on earth she'll feel the guilt in her heart, like a thorn that has stuck there and won't break loose. It won't kill her either - it will just continue to bother her... try this website - it explains the whole play scene by scene.
