For a homemade cold chocolate milk recipe:
11 ounces milk
1 ounce water
1 1/2 teaspoons cocoa
2 tablespoons sugar
Put sugar, cocoa, and water in microwavable 12 oz glass.
Microwave for 30 seconds or until sugar and cocoa dissolve.
add cold milk and stir.
For a homemade Hot chocolate recipe:
3 1/2 ounces chocolate candy bars
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Melt the chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, or in the microwave. When the chocolate has melted, add the corn starch and stir well. Be careful with the cornstarch, if you add too much you will get pudding!
In another saucepan bring milk to a boil and pour in the chocolate mixture. Bring back to a boil for 2 minutes to make it thicken.
Pour into cups. Serve it with whipping cream.
The better the quality of the chocolate you use, the better your hot chocolate will taste. You can use white, milk or dark chocolate for this recipe.
If you wanted the actual dry mix:
1 c. cocoa
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. non-fat dry milk
Combine ingredients until thoroughly mixed. Put mix in jar and store for handy use.
Use 2-3 tablespoons of mix with 8 ounces of cold water for chocolate milk or 8 ounces of hot water for hot chocolate.
