Business Culture in China

China’s business culture is undergoing dramatic and constant change .China’s Cultural Revolution actually sent many young professionals to work in rural areas while also denying education to others. As such, because most Chinese enterprises were state-owned, most Chinese did not have the opportunity to study business-related areas to help craft the Chinese business culture. However, over the past two decades, more Chinese have had the chance to pursue business education and careers and are helping define the Chinese business culture.

Although Chinese business culture is rapidly evolving, there are a number of key issues that need to be addressed when doing business in China. These issues include:

*Understand that business moves slowly: Business happens at a much slower pace in China than in the United States. Companies wanting to do business may need to visit China numerous times before purchasing or negotiation anything.

However, over the past two decades, more Chinese have had the chance to pursue business education and careers and are helping define the Chinese business culture.
