Yes it's a scam. They lie to everyone who walks in the door or responds to their ads in order to get their money. That's what their 'scouts' are trained to do. Look them up here: http://ripoffreport.com/
Like NYgal said they are not an agency no matter what they say nor are JRP. Just companies eager to pray on unsuspecting people wanting to get into the industry and don't know any better.
Start here instead:
http://www.fordmodels.com/main.cfm - click on ‘global scouting’
http://www.elitemodel.com/flash.html - click on ‘be discovered’
Look up other legit agency websites and see what their requirements are and how you can submit photos with them or attend an open call. If you have potential they will spot it and work with you (or your friend).
good luck

This is why it is a scam. You are paying 60 some dollars if the price haven't change for every time you go there and yeah you get the class you pay for and then the pictures you pay for and the portfolio you pay for but they don't go to explain that 1800casting is around 40.00$ a year and give you direct access to the director and producer and ext. Please save yourself a couple of thousands of dollars and attempt to put who you are out there sign up for 1800casting without them. If you need to be taught some talent there is always you tube for t-stance, flare etc....

No its not look up the better business burro it will help and I'm gonna start taking classes my mom knows the director so dont listen its a good school and angency

BIG TIME SCAM just do a web search of modeling scams, they tell everyone they are just what they are looking for or they have great possibilities as an actor so they can sell their very expensive classes. better you find an acting studio that you can buy one class at a time. There are no real agencies for anyone who has not a wealth of experience and training. They need people who can compete with the best actors in the world. There is no way for an inexperienced kid to become a professional actor unless the kid has a celebrity relative.

I am a retired actor and i have taught acting for 50 years. Read my profile. -
Well I just walked out of there no its is not a scam some people may think it is but its not its been around for 24 years its not a scam in my opinion
-
Yes, it's a scam.
The modeling industry is located in NYC. If you want to model, you must live in NYC.
John Casablanca and JohnRobert Powers, are NOT modeling agencies.
They prey on girls that do NOT have modeling potential. Models must meet very strict height and weight requirements.
They take their money and don't provide anything of substance, except, probably a modeling assignment in the local mall. -
Well kinda, they arent a real agency (and they arent franchied), and they just give classes. I personally wouldnt go to them for anything.
