How do colonial and foreign policies in the Philippines create a Filipino Culture of Poverty?

    they were practically destroyed during WWII, you left that out. they really never fully recovered. corrupt gov't officials pocketed the funds the US gave during the marshall plan and an overall lack of freedom and too much corruption ruined the philippines. i dont think you can blame it on anything other than the gov't.

    Look at everywhere the Spanish were at, and you will find most left the areas economically depressed. That is after the Spanish stole all of the natural resources and wealth.



    Puerto Rico

    Central America

    All of these areas are impoverished.
