Protease is a kind of enzyme which can catalyze the broken down of certain protein bonds and that's why with the help of protease, egg stains can be removed more easily. However, proteins exist in silk and wool also. If they are soaked in solution containing protease, the protein bonds within the fibre will be broken down and the wools and silk will become fragile.
