In a socialist health care society will fat people and smokers be beaten and ostracized?

After all nobody will want to pay for their health care with their own tax money!

The ostracizing of over-weight people is troubling . And I'll note right here that I'm not over-weight and never have been . But I hold no bias against over-weight people . And unfortunately the far left does harbor bias, disdain , and some hatred towards them . This is quite surreal . Children tease fat people , not adults . Children hold bias towards over-weight kids , adults never have. . . . . until now . The entire set of ideals of the far left are infecting our society at alarming rates . The far left sees their way as the only way . They claim freedom for all and trumpet free speech but only when you agree with their philosophies .

A smoker is a person . However , the far left ostracizes smokers as though they're bad people . Ridiculous . Smoking is absolutely not indicative of whether a person is a good guy or a bad guy . However if you read the garbage spewed forth from the left , you'd think that only non-smokers are good people and all smokers are bad people .

This is all just ludicrous .

Hey, you never know when the government is running the show. There will be rules whether you agree with them or not.

Rule #1. Under the government plan you will have no choices, sign up for the health plan, or you cannot apply and

    get a job.

Rule #2. If you don't like rule number 1, I hope you are rich enough to go to a good doctor and pay for quality health care.

Rule#3. The government will have so much bureaucracy, and red tape that by time you get an ok to see a doctor, you will have forgotten why you needed to see one in the first place.

    And the beat goes on..........

The French have a higher percentage of smokers and fewer restrictions against the act.....

They also have a diet higher in fats with lots of creams and butter...

    They suffer fewer coronary-related illnesses...

They also have a higher per capita alchohol consumption...

They begin drinking at an earlier age...

    But have less liver disease

But they are thinner than us...

We had less obesity before all of our anti-smoking campaigns.....

We are now the fattest society on Earth...

If this was a mathematical equation, it would blow up a computer!

Unless you make over 250 K a year, you won't be effected much by the cost of the health care. It isn't socialist. It is to be handled through employers and private insurance companies. You would still use your own choice of doctors and chose a plan that works for you. Not sure about the smoking and weight. There will be a lot of debate before any final plan is decided upon.

Why would they beat up a smoker since they are the ones who will be paying $10 of tax per pack to pay for everyone elses free health care?

Smokers already pay higher rates in our private system, and may be denied coverage under some employer policies.

I can tell by your question that you haven't even read some of the potential healthcare programs out there. Where do you get "socialized health care society?"-- out of your own paranoid brain.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT, BUT THEIR TAXES WILL GO UP. MANY STATES ARE CONSIDERING TAXING JUNK FOODS LIKE THEY DO CIGARETTES. JUST WHAT WE NEED MORE GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT IN OUR LIVES.
