Order from WHSmiths online and you can get it very cheap. Get delivered to the store and pay no postage. Cheapest edition is £1.99. http://www.whsmith.co.uk/whs/go.asp

Alternatively, read it online for free:

The Great Gatsby? They must have it in every bookshop, don't they?

    Or read it online!

Erm, a bookshop, love. Its a VERY famous book. Surely Hertfordshire has bookshops? Or buy it online at Amazon or ebay.

don't schools provide copies of the set texts anymore? where in Herts? lots of second hand bookshops in Hertford and also charity shops will have a copy or two. Hope you enjoy it, it's a great book!

You are bound to find it on the Amazon website. Otherwise, try your local bookshop as they usually knows what books are on the schools curricula and stock them especially for students like you.

Check with your local book store, if they don't have it they can order it for you. If it cost too much just check it out at the library.
