The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold for bank 1, and in the catalytic converter for bank 2. There is a special socket for the changing of oxygen sensors, available at most auto parts stores. It is a deep well, usually 1/2" drive, with a long slot running through it, to allow for the wire. Do Not cut the wire off to it, disconnect the connector. These sensors are very sensitive, and if you patch the wire, it may not read properly. When reinstalling the replacement sensor, use anti-seize on the threads, being extremely careful not to get any on the part of the sensor that goes into the manifold. After you install the new sensor, have the codes read, and also have the computer cleared of any old codes. this needs to be done to turn off the "check engine" light on the dashboard. Almost any auto parts store will do this for you for free. Check with them when you buy your sensor. GOOD LUCK!
