well before it was always the dad, mom, and kids. now a days, a family can be as small as a mom and her son or daughter, or dad and son etc. there are also larger families such as dad, mom, daughter, and grandparents.

the quality and quantity of actual family time for the average family has really changed. Mom and/or dad is not around, too busy, working all the time. yeah-sometimes it has to be that way but that's one of the major reasons their are so many problems with the way the kids are growing up
