high blood pressure question?
i have really high blood pressure...today i took it and it came up at 153 i have history on blood presure from my dads side....now whe i get really upset and nervous i get really bad adrenaline and alot o f blood pumps though my body..... could this be dangerous? somtimes i tend to act violent because of how much blood is pumping...at leat that is what it feels like...... i know that i could lower my blood pressure by relaxing and being more calm about stuff...... what would reduce this....would meditation or yoga help at all?

Blood pressure measurements don't count for anything if you've been walking around. Ideally, you should be sitting down for at least 5 minutes or so. Blood pressure also can vary during the day, so it's best to get measurements from similar times during the day. No caffeine in the morning either. These measurements should be repeated on a few separate occasions. Some people get "white coat hypertension" when they go to the doctor's office because they are nervous. Probably blood pressure medicines wouldn't kill you. But you don't necessarily need blood pressure medicines if your blood pressure is only high while active. When doctors study the effects of high blood pressure, they study the effects of people who are diagnosed with it as described above. You are probably at no higher cardiac risk from your blood pressure.

It sounds like you may have more problems than just high blood pressure. You need to look at the cause of your violent behavior and take action to resolve this. It can ruin your life as well as others.
As for lower blood pressure, relaxation can definitely help, especially if you're a pumped up, over-excited type. But my experience tells me you probably don't have the patience for meditation or yoga. You should still try it but if you want something easier, and just as effective, I recommend something called the Breatheasy system.
This is a type of slow breathing, similar to that used by yoga or meditation, combined with music.
Breatheasy is designed especially to lower blood pressure and it also reduces stress and anxiety.

One high blood pressure does not mean that you have high blood pressure. You need to check it every day at the same time for 1 week. Chill out a little and it should come down. High blood pressure doesn't make someone violent. Being psychotic does.

high blood pressure runs in my family. my brother is the athlete in the family and has it. he needs to take medication to control it. My doctor also said that of course diet and exercise is also a good way to reduce high blood pressure. A good way is to check with you doctor and get some advice if you dont want any medication taken.

Yes relaxation, yoga and the like can and will help. So will reducing your salt intake and eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. You can have a chat with your Dr about a dietary plan that can help also.

i am not sure, but taking an hour o two out of every day to read write take a nap, relax, or play or listen too music
turn off your phones or put then on silent so you ccan relax....
Also a good diet and exercise regime is good too.
