Have you ever had a magic bottle in you science class?

Whats inside it? I been trying to figure it out for 3 years now. I just want to know. Is that "magic bottle" which you can put the pen inside and turn the bottle upside down and the pen will still stick there. Also why is that in a car there are materials that can tolerate high temperature?
