In year 1600, why do parents wait to name their children until they're 2 years old?
Its for academic purpose, for history class.

Off the top of my head, I'd think if the child lived two year it was safe to give it (child) a name. I'd expect the mortality rate was high for new-Born's and probably some religious connotations.

complete guess here, but i would think it might have something to do with the high infant mortality rate and parents wanting to make sure the kid would live before naming.
