Politically correct and going overboard?
*Sigh* Any of you grow up with GI Joe?
Well Hollywood is making a movie and it features the new, improved, and politically correct GI Joe. It's the "Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity" — an international, coed task force. So no longer an American hero eh.
Is this just another way to hate America?

Yes it is and the Mattel corporation should file a copyright infringement suite against Hollywood for this crap.
Those leftist, pinko commies in Hollywood need to be deported to Cuba where they can practice their trade properly, under a socialist regime.

By all means, YES..that's "another reason to hate America". *That of course is said with sarcasm , while rolling my eyes*
It's a clever acronym, that's it. Besides GI Joe wasn't even GI Joe: A Real American Hero until the 80's and at that time women were introduced to the line also...so it's already been co-ed for two plus decades. There have also been international /intergalactic characters since the 80's too.
IMO , the new name is merely a reflection of the global world we now live in.
What's the big deal?

No, it's merely the result from our increasingly globalized society. A lot of once purely American characters and franchises have adapted to appeal to a wider, international audience. It's all about expanding the fanbase and helping the bottom line.
Welcome to the 21st Century.
