In Disney's "Pocahantes" why doesn't John Smith have a British accent?

    he actually has a more aussie accent seeing as he's played by Mel Gibson. I guess they thought it didn't matter seeing as it's a children's movie, but that is a good question!

    Because the poor woman, since she didn't understand his culture, much less with an accent. lol
