Both Tigger and Fleegle (Banana Splits) were voiced by Paul Winchell, at least until 1999, when he was replaced by Jim Cummings. Winchell also voiced Dick Dasterdly and a host of Hanna-Barbara characters during the 1960s, 70s and 80s. As a ventriloquist, he voiced Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smith as host of a weekday afternoon kids show in the mid 1960s.

A little know fact about Winchell is he is one of the original inventors of an artificial heart - years before the first successful transplant with such of a device, an automobile that runs on battery power, a method for breeding tilapia fish, and many other inventions that are still around today.

He died on June 24, 2005, in Los Angeles of Natural Causes.

Paul Winchell was the voice of both of them. Winchell was a great ventriloquist (Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff) and voice actor. He also was an inventor of an original artificial heart and a battery operated automobile (he held patents for over 30 other inventions).

He worked for Disney and Hanna-Barbera...

    His work at Hanna-Barbera included:

    Dick Dastardly (Wacky Races)

Bubi Bear (Help! It's The Hair Bear Bunch!)

Goober (Goober & The Ghost Chasers)

Revs (Wheelie & The Chopper Bunch)

    Woofer (Clue Club)

    Gargamel (The Smurfs)

He died on June 24, 2005.
