I agree with both Verne and London. London is a dog-person. Verne authored simply fantastic adventures. I would choose Journey to the Center of the Earth. The main character is younger than in Verne's other books, and it's great: dinosaur battles, caves, a secret coded message, a quest, volcanoes, thirst and starvation, a giant - what boy wouldn't love this? Warning: a little slow between decoding the message and the *really* good stuff, but still fascinating. One of the all-time great adventure books.

The Jungle Books by Kipling. Animals raise a human child. Of course, he can talk to the animals. Definitely a boys adventure, with considerable practical morality (like, why it's good to listen to your teachers/elders, the "Law of the Jungle", etc.)

Other good options (reading level and adult content specs at this site: http://www.life-after-harry-potter.com/ )

"The Sword in the Stone" by T H White - if you haven't read it, I don't want to give it away. If you have, then you know why he should read it. You should read it too. Also has good morality for children (basically, humility, persistence and cheerfulness solve lots of problems, and friends are a very good thing to have).

"The Hobbit" by Tolkien - just good adventure, an epic quest a la King Arthur made by 14 little people, with lots of great mythological creatures.

the terrific adventure e book I incredibly have ever study became into Shantaram by using Gregory David Roberts. It’s an autobiography (supposedly) disguised as a singular approximately Roberts’ existence in India after escaping from a optimal protection detention center in Australia. Roberts’ adventures in India are so astounding that it makes you ponder whether it would desire to incredibly be genuine, and that i mean that in the time of a reliable way. The e book is over 900 pages and there’s by no skill a lull. There are hundreds of brief memories in the greater effective adventure/secret: some are extraordinarily heartbreaking, some are so humorous I laughed out loud, some are chillingly violent, some are heart-warmingly hopeful, and a great style of comprise combos of the 4. The characters are so genuine. there are this kind of wonderful style of (perhaps one hundred?) yet they’re so richly drawn that I by no skill lost music of who became into who. Roberts refers to his very own character as a “challenging guy,” which he positively is, yet he has an exceptionally comfortable heart. this mixture is what makes the story so eye-catching. It additionally explains how Roberts would desire to the two artwork for the Bombay mafia and run a unfastened clinical health facility in the slum. in many approaches, the e book is like between the Bollywood video clips that the characters love plenty: it’s greater effective-than-existence, it’s emotional, it loves India (Bombay specially), and there’s a great number of making a music and dancing.

Try Jack London. He has written some short books full of adventure.

Sherlock Holmes-not too long but interesting

Call or contact your school librarian for assistance. The Newbery series of award winners is a good place to start.

You can go to Amazon.com and search:

    "Lost from Atlantis Book 1"

"Death by Murder David Lindsay" - you have to search that way.

    and "Super Spaghetti."

They're all available for free right now through Kindle Unlimited, which you can get with a free trial - Google how to get it. Then you can read it online or with a free Kindle phone app if you don't have a Kindle.
