envy跟 jealousy有什麼不一樣

envy 跟 jealousy 這兩個單字有什麼差別

那個語感比較強烈??

分別適用在哪種句子裡呢??

    個人覺得這兩個字的差別不在於語感強烈的程度, 而是它們的方向.

    對於他人所擁有的優勢, 所產生的心態, 可以有正反兩面.

    在英英字典的解釋中, [jealous]含有[resentment](怨恨)的成分.

    譬如對超級名模林志玲的觀感:

    1. 噢, 真希望有朝一日也可以像她那樣! (這是"羨慕"[envious])

    2. 哼, 有什麼了不起, 她只是運氣好而已! (這是"嫉妒"[jealous])

    或許外國人在使用上分得不是那麼清楚, 畢竟它們只是同一種心態的兩個極端罷了.

    envy/envious = 羨慕 (動詞或形容詞)

    jealous/jealousy = 嫉妒 (形容詞)

    He's the envy of many other guys.

    They envy him.

    Other guys are jealous of him.

    They are jealous of him.
