When is it going to be Hurricane Higgins (aka the recent Britsh snooker celebrity)

World Meteorological Organization uses six lists in rotation. The same lists are reused every six years. The only time a new name is added is if a hurricane is very deadly or costly. Then the name is retired and a new name is chosen.

At the beginning of the hurricane season they start with A and work through the alphabet. Also they alternate between womens and mens names. IE: Todays was Dean, so the next will be named after a woman, maybe Elanore? They also never use the name twice. You'll never see another hurricane named Charlie or Elaine, because they have already been used. I'm not sure who exactly has the authority to name them through.

Hurricane Higgins sounds cool. However, the names are determined by The National Meteorological Organization.

Names are alternated between male and female. So the next hurricane will have a female name. Names are chosen from a list provided by the World Meteorological Organization.

hurricans are given names in alphabetical order to maintain checklist of the form of hurricanes in the process the year. working example hurricane Katrina replaced into the eleventh hurricane in that year it struck (considering the fact that letter ok is the eleventh in the alphabet). the US metheorological hurrican society provides hurricanes their call, and names are given so mess ups could be remembered or stated while speaking. occasion Hurrican Katrina has left billions of $$ in damages. with the aid of this sentence all of us comprehend we are refering to a particular hurricane and finding up into the US metheorological records /information in the process the call we can arrive to the date while Katrina hit the US.

I don't know who does but they go though the alphabet and use the letters in order to name the next hurricane. They come up with a name that starts with that letter.

I heard on a show my husband was watching once on the discovery channel that they actually have a list of approved names. Once they go through the list of approved names they will simply start all over again. So it's not like they just think up a name, the names are predetermined years in advance. So there will be another Andrew, another Rita, etc, etc.

There is a list of pre-determined names that get repeated every couple of years (I think it is 6). But if there is a catastrophic hurricane, that name gets dropped from the list and another with the same first letter replaces it.

They go in alphabetical order. If it develops into a bad hurricane like katrina, they will never use that name again.

It will be a male name begining with E. It will go through the alphabet until the end and then switch back to female names! and so on!
