On 737-400 is the earily generation of Boeing 737. 500,800 is the bigger and newer generation of 737. But they only have little bit of differences. On 747, 100SR means Sort Range. For no longer than 4000KM routes. And stanard 100 can fly over 10000KM, it is the first generation of 747 in 1969. And 200 is the upgrade generation of 100, not much differences. And C for Convertible which is essentially a passenger aircraft that can be converted to a freighter and back when needed. The seats are removable and the fuselage has a much bigger door on the maindeck for cargo entry. M can be freight and passengers jet at once. F is a freighter. At 80's, 300 is the stretch 747, longer upper deck. The 747-400 was offered in several versions like previous 747-300 variants. It added 6 feet wing tip extensions and 6 feet winglets, tail fuel tanks, revised engines, an all-new interior, and an all-new glass cockpit which dispensed with the need for a flight engineer. The passenger version first entered service in February 1989 with Northwest Airlines on the Minneapolis to Phoenix route. The C version entered service in September 1989 with KLM. And finally 100 is the first virsion of 757 and 757 is a glass cockpit and newer virsion of 757.
