Do you believe that Cannabis plants are medical plants?

I believe that these plants are good for pain, cancer, and other areas. Some will argue there are already medications there, I argue that the medications that are there are expensive. Some cancer and aids medications cost big bucks, these cannabis plants can be grown cheap. I am not saying make it legal like a pack of tobacco. I think that it has some good qualities though.

I am courious to know your view?

Thanks in advance for your answers...

If you are talking about pot plants that people grow for recreation they bear no resemblance to what grows naturally.

THC levels in pot today are many many times the level it was back in like the 60s and early 70s for instance.

I think there is possible medicinal use. One of my friends who studied Radiology said pot is the best anti nausea drug.

for people going through chemotherapy etc.

But I do not know how that would be moderated. I am not sure it could be done right.

They'd look funny in a lab coat.

I do think that there is a plethora of anecdotal evidence to support the usage for medical conditions.

HD Net /Dan Rather had a program last month on just this issue.

Setting the issue of distribution problems aside, I do believe it should be available to alleviate suffering.

It is not a narcotic substance such as an opiate, that has the potential for harmful abuse to the individual or society.

What is BS! are the FU conservative, self-serving MF's that stand in the way of disseminating the information to reach a productive conclusion.

Those that oppose on some supposed moral ground should have a friend/loved one or better yet themselves put in a condition where relief is withheld and then see just what they'd do.

grrrrrrrrrr I knew I shouldn't have begun to address this issue.

What I believe doesn't matter. Doctors do. That's good enough for me.

Jimmy J: I don't knoew the answer to this but did you consider that copping a buzz could be helping with mental health and a person's ability to cope in a complex world? I believe most people get high (recreationally) because it makes them feel good.

Cannabis has been proven to reduce interocular eye pressure, and I think that enough qualifies it for medical plant status. Another use for the plant is to increase appetites. That being said, I would limit its use as I would limit vicodin (the pain reliever) medication as it is addictive and harmful for ones body .

In America, cannabis is not a medical plant unless the FDA says so. So far, they have not.

Depends on why you're using it. If you're using it to cop a buzz, then there is really no medical benefit. If you're using it because of glaucoma or following chemo therapy, then it is medical.

I believe it should be legal if prescribed by a MD. and dispensed through a pharmacy. It helps with pain and nausea and increases a cancer Pt's appetite.
