Why Cells When divided Are called "daughter cells"?

When a cell divides itself, The Newly formed cells Are called daughter cells . Why not son cells Or something else??

Because mostly in terminology, the source is called 'mother'(mother plant, mother ship ;-) and the descendants or new formations are called daughters. This is because in the animal life, a female or mother can give birth to offspring, and not a male or father.
If a cell divides, the new cells can usually divide again, thus 'giving birth' in a certain sense, thus being referred to by a female term.

The name daughter cell is because when one cell divide the new cells formed will be able to divide after maturation which is the characteristic of mother cell . that is why the innocent stage of these cells are called daughter cells.

When cell division take place in the cell mostly unicellular organisms it is call asexual reproduction. In this there are no father cells because there is no sexual reproduction taking place. again when they divide they redivide to form new daughter cells. As you know sons cannot reproduce like daughters do so they are called daughter cells
