This web site has a video that shows what happens to the brain when exposed to mercury vapor at levels about 100 to 1,000 times LESS than what you are exposed to when you brush your teeth and have Amalgam fillings (silver fillings from the dentist) in your mouth. Just imagine the amount of mercury you are getting when you get a flu shot with the mercury preservative they put into it. No wonder Americans are suffering from Alzheimer's disease!
Aluminum does not create the same problem with brain tissue, but Aluminum is a heavy metal that ends up in all your soft glands, like the thyroid. And yes, Aluminum is very bad for you in quantities above the trace mineral value. SOY is a much bigger concern than baking soda, but there are baking sodas that do not contain Aluminum and you should switch to those brands. SOY contains high levels of Aluminum because it has a great affinity for absorbing it both from the soil and from the processing equipiment used to process it.
Stay totally away from SOY, it is not good for you. It slows the thyroid down to a point that even the drug manufacturers that sell Synthroid and other thyroid medications warn against eating it because it counteracts the drug's actions. SOY also inhibits mineral absorption of the body and this alone should keep people from eating it. It inhibits over 50% of the iron absorption and this is why many vegetarians are anemic.
It is imperative that you get rid of all the silver fillings in your mouth and have a very qualified dentist that understands the damage to your body that low grade infections in the mouth have on you. Cancer is a high level infection and is created by about 8 to 10 years of low grade infections in the body that generate biofilms that the body cannot kill easily.
Aluminum frying pans are very bad for you. The aluminum is a soft metal that comes off easily. Just take a scouring pad and scrub the pan a little and then wash the scouring pad and watch the color of the water and you will be convinced how easily the pan gives up it's aluminum. Teflon at 350 degrees for 3 to 4 minutes out gases a very, very dangerous chemical that is very harmful to you. There is currently a class action suit against Dupont that was organized because of these problems. Buy and use stainless steel pans made of high grade stainless steel. The cheap stainless steel has problems with the nickel used in them.
You also want to stay completely away from anything containing FLUORIDE. This is a very toxic chemical and people who promote the "greatness" of this for things like teeth health are simply NUTS. Fluoride is a heavy metal that the body prefers over iodine because both are halogens and fluoride happens to be much more active chemically. There is some fluoride in the soil and this becomes a trace mineral that the body needs, but not in the quantity people are being exposed to. Fluoride toothpaste even states on the tube, "keep away from children." Read the fine print. Fluoridated water is, has been, and does make people deficient in iodine. The thyroid requires 3% of the iodine ingested and the rest goes to all the organs in the body. If deficient in this, your organs simply will not work like they should. A simple test can be done to see if you are deficient and I would guess that only about 1 to 2% of all the people reading this are not deficient because they have bought into the marketing garbage that fluoride prevents tooth decay! It just creates a tougher surface on the enamel, but many cultures in the world that eat quality food, unlike Americans, don't get tooth decay problems. The test: rub about a golf ball size smear of "tincture of iodine" you get from the drug store on your chest. If the iodine is gone in 24 hours, you are deficient. If it goes away in a few hours, you are really deficient and need to get some more iodine in your diet immediately.
