Who is your favorite Romance Author and Why?

Looking for new authors. I am not fond of Vampire books or books about England. Its hard to relate to places I have never seen. I like American base books. Historial, Inspiration, and Comtemporary.

These Authors I either own all their books or have read all their books.

Kate Bridges, Mary Burton, Megan Chance, Carolyn Davidson, Genell Dellin, Nicholas Sparks, Carol Finch, Dorothy Garlock, Deborah Hale, Kristen Hannah, Jillan Hart, Norah Hess, Joan Johnston, Jenna Kernan, Elizabeth Lane, Debbie Macomber, Mary McBride, Maureen McKade, Linda Lael Miller, Constance O'Banyon, Diana Palmer, Nora Roberts, Evelyn Rogers, Sharon Salas, Charlene Sparks, Cheryl St. John, Judith Stacy, Anne Stuart, Jodi Thomas, Susan Wiggs, Bronwyn Williams, Dina McCall and Danielle Steel.

Now it might look that most are in order but I keep a list in my purse, so when I go in a bookstore I have author and book I hadn't read by them.

I am need of a new author that catches you in the first chapter.

Update 2:

Keep it coming, I see new authors I haven't read before... Thanks

    Favorite Answer

    Diana Gabaldon.

She is the author of the Outlander series.

    I highly recommend the series.

A woman I used to work with got a bunch of us hooked on these books. We would talk about them at lunch break.

It was fun. There's a lot of everything, romance, history, time travel, interesting characters, a very strong heroine.

Nicholas Sparks, Danielle Steele. I know they are both very mainstream, but they're both great at what they do.
