I think that a small white clutch purse would be sort of elegant and it'd go with the whole wedding thing

the only ones I've ever seen were just cotton and that fabric is too casual for a wedding. most of the time you only see maxi dresses on celebrities with huge sunglasses and flip flops, that's no good. you can wear a floor length gown if you want but you don't want to look like you're trying to be in the wedding party. it doesn't hurt to ask the bride or groom beforehand, or their parents, what color the bridesmaids are wearing so you can avoid buying that.

You won't end up using a bag, my friend bought one for her wedding and it ended up on the chair or with her mum for most of the night. If you really feel like you need a bag get a simply small white bag, with no detail and you can carry, either clutch or with a small handle to hold by your side and won't clash or take away how special the dress is. You'll be able to get something like that from any bridal shop or somewhere like debenhams or a big dept store, also try monsoon they have some lovely bridal wear and accessories but you may have to go instore to see the proper collection.

Definitely a small clutch bag (with some subtle beading?) I gave my bag to one of my bridesmaids to look after on my wedding day as it's not a great look in the photos! but it's handy to have one for make-up, tissues etc.

    good luck!

Rumour has it that Brides tend to carry flowers - not a handbag or purse..... if your insistent on carrying a bag, you could always carry your suitcase for the honeymoon .... ha ha just kidding - stick with the flowers.....a colour as everything else sounds well white!

I was thinking of a nice oversholder tote style bag. I found this new ruched style design one at monsoon and accessorize website for you. Its a nice one, that you could use again, after the wedding.
