What does the saying " An Elephant never forgets " mean?

    Elephants remember everything....they never forget a thing.

    Thats why people will say they have a memory like an elephant.

    Pretty much the same as "Do unto others .... etc", in other words, don't mess with me, or you'll get what's coming to you, or, "What goes round comes round" ... or if on a T shirt, was the wearer a rather large, intimidating person you were better advised not to make eye contact with? Other than that, you've got me!

    it means elephants have extremely long memory's and they never forget i guess.

    Exactly what it says on the tin - elephants never forget.

    They are supposed to recognise you years later if you hurt them or were friendly to them, and they go back to the same places for generations - waterholes etc.

    Maybe they tie knots in their trunks to remind them?!

    it means whatever u'll odne will be remembered

    because elephants have very long memories and will often go to a place of sentimental value to die
