No. Caffeine is a diuretic. That is, you will lose water.

Immediately after you've drunk it, you have more water in your body. Quite quickly you will flush this water, as well as some extra, out through your body, so that you have a net loss of water, rather than a gain.

This will happen with any amount of caffeine, not just 'too much'. It may also be the reason that people get side-effects, such as headaches, etc, from caffeine, through dehydration.

Most people anyways, do not drink enough water, so reducing caffeine intake is a good thing - stops us having even less. The adverse effects of caffeine withdrawal are what push us to need our caffeine fix, and why we feel 'better' after a cup of coffee. Studies show that caffeine just ends the withdrawals symptoms, which is why we feel better after a drink of it.

Caffeine is a diuretic which means that it makes you urinate more. It makes you lose too much water if you take in too much caffeine which isn't good for you because of dehydration.

Coffee is actually a diuretic. You certainly won't hold extra water.

yes, i can always tell at the end of the day that drinking soda-caffine-my legs and feet swell-normal again in morning and process begins again

  • No, it does not. Caffeine, in particular coffee and coca cola dehydrates your body, meaning it flushes more water out!!!!!!!!
