PLEASE help me!! How much $ does the gov take out of a yearly salary?
If a single person with no kids, never married or divorced, renting an apartment in new york and don't own any houses or a car, and make $35,000 a year how much (just a ballpark guess or anything! please) would be taken out of my check a year for taxes? please just any resonable/realistic guess. thanks

You can use this H&R Block calculator to determine the amount for your federal income tax and state income tax deductions. http://www.hrblock.com/taxes/tax_calculators/index...

Use one of these paycheck calculators to find out nearly exactly what your paychecks will be. It will show you the amounts for all the various taxes. Then just multiply by the number of pay periods in a year (26 if paid bi-weekly, 52 if paid weekly.)
It's better than guessing and only takes a minute or so.
