Why is Gandhi so praised as a "pacifist" when he held a racialist philosophy?
As a youth he grew up as a privileged Hindu in India. When he was 24, he obtained a job in South Africa. There he was treated like all other Indian immigrants: with contempt, and as if he were similar to the Blacks in the region.
His writings at the time are mostly to claim that Indians are superior to Blacks and don't deserve to be treated like them. And in those writings he also "recognizes" white superiority.
Is it any wonder so much positive propaganda has been made of him? His ideas support that is convenient to the powerful in the world!
