So what does the big wide world know about my country New Zealand?
Just curious really

That Australia likes to take credit for everything that New Zealand has and will achieve.
Film location for Lord of the Rings
I know that they get pissed off at how loud and arrogant their Australian neighbours are, but keep a good humour about it, the same as Canadians feel about Americans.
Being from BC Canada, I know that New Zealand is the only place in the world that can compete with our natural beauty.

It's arguably one of the most gorgeous countries in the world. Comprising of 2 islands, North Island and the South Island, New Zealand is a land of contrasts.
It has its share of cosmopolitan cities, with Auckland, its capital in North Island, and Christchurch (probably even more cosmopolitan), in South Island.
In stack contrast are the cities of Rotorua, Queenstown and Dunedin, with their natural beauty and sights. Rotorua's hot water geysers are not to be missed (the smell it though!). And no description of New Zealand's natural beauty would be complete without mentioning the Glowworm caves at Waitomo.
Would you believe that under the Royal Titles Act of 1953, Queen Elizabeth II is still Queen of New Zealand? New Zealand is the only country in the world in which all the highest offices in the land have been occupied simultaneously by women: Queen Elizabeth II, Governor-General Dame Silvia Cartwright, Prime Minister Helen Clark, Speaker of the House of Representatives Margaret Wilson and Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias - in an increasingly corrupt and war-torn a world filled with male representatives, New Zealand is a shining example of what women can do when they're empowered.
How can I forget the All Blacks, their national Rugby team (it has the best record of any national team!!). They're venerated by practically everyone, and their rivalry with their immediate neighbours - the Aussies - is legendary.
I could go on and on about NZ - its Maori people and their friendly welcomes (their powhiri is a ceremony of welcome extended to visitors), their traditions, dances, food(!) and ways of cooking, their flora and fauna (Emu, for example... yummy!), their economy, their culture, and much, much more.
For such a geographically small and remote country, it certainly ranks amongst one of the world's finest.

I've read that there are twice as many sheep as there are people (from a Snapple)
It's the world leader in extreme sports, bungi jumping was invented there, and that people in Wellington don't decorate their homes for Christmas the way Americans do.
