insect bites?

Insect bite, formed a knot, came to a head, was popped but now its scab is black and hard/knot under skin. What bit me?

It sounds like an infected tick bite. Keep cortisone on it as often as you can. If you start getting flu-like symptoms go to the hospital you could have lime disease.
