DSC security system change passcode?

i just moved into a new home with a DSC security system equipment. I have the current passcode, and was wondering how I can change it to a different passcode. Also, is there a manual I can download, however I do not know what DSC model it is.

First of all, you will need the master code. Not having that you will need to either guess at it (Which could take awhile) or default the panel and re-program which could confuse you even more depending on your technical knowledge. Try 1234 at first, it might just work.

*5 followed by the Master code will get you into user code programming mode (The master code is user 1 or 40, depending on the model) At that point you enter in the position of the user number you want to change. This is where you need to know the model number or at least how may codes the system is capable of holding as the user position could be 1 digit (1, 2, 3, 4 etc) or 2 digit (01, 02, 03, 04) at that point you enter in your new 4 digit user code.

    Here is a quick flow

    [*]

    [5]

    Master Code

    [2]

new 4 digit code (do not use * or # in your code)

    [#] to exit

    for larger systems

    [*]

    [5]

    Master Code

    [02]

new 4 digit code (do not use * or # in your code)

    [#] to exit

Test the code and make sure it works. I used number 2 in these examples ust in case you muck things up your first time around you won't end up mixing up the master code.

If you contact me through my profile (Please do not phone me as my free technical support is limited to Email and my own customers) with a panel model number I can get a manual for you. To find out what model it is, just look inside the main panel the part number should start with PC could be PC 1000, PC1500/50 PC1555, PC 2550, PC 3000, PC5010 etc. If the system is pure wireless and the keypad occupies a large chunk of the wall and looks more like a wall radio just let me know.
