The Knicks will be a better team now that they dumped Steve Francis and his fat contract. Francis and Marbury were 2 ball hoggers who could not co-exist together. Thanks to the trade for Zach Randolph, now they can allow Marbury more freedom to run the offense. Randolph will give the Knicks another lowpost scorer to complement Ed Curry so New York should be able to score more next year. However, Randolph and Curry have one thing in common. They both don't play defense (that means getting blocks or steal is not something they are interested in). Lucky for the Knicks, they are playing in the Leastern conference where they don't have to go through teams with great big men to get to the finals. That also means they won't need to stop teams with good big men nor do they have to worry about teams stopping their big guys.

The Knicks now have Marbury to penetrate with Zach and Eddy in the middle to get offensive boards and score. If the defense clamps down on the big fellows, they can always pass it out to a Jamaal Crawford or Quentin Richardson on the perimeter. At least now, New York has somewhat of a strategic game plan. They just need to work on their team defense and they do happen to have some defensive players like Kelvin Cato, Jared Jeffries, and even Nate Robinson. The Knicks can still run with Marbury and Crawford but their area of strength will be their halfcourt offense. New York will be an exciting team to watch and will certainly have a more competitive roster next season. Here is how their lineup will look like next season.

PG - Stephon Marbury / backup - Nate Robinson

SG - Jamaal Crawford / backup - Renaldo Balkman

SF - Quentin Richardson / backup - Jared Jeffries

PF - Zach Randolph / backup - David Lee

    C - Eddy Curry / backup - Kelvin Cato
