Is Humanity Ready for Anarchism? A Social Revolution? What do you think?
Anarchism, in my mind, is the greatest sense of freedom any human can achieve. A human attains a total and pure sense of liberty and freedom, by having the ability to essentially and literally govern himself. Other forms of government today advocate control of human beings, by having a "greater" being ruling over other human beings, thus creating the prospect of inequality, which is, the downfall of our society today. However, Humanity today is totally inept of governing itself, due to concepts that is imbed into us, such as conformist beliefs that advocate a sense of dependency. If there was no government today, humanity would be in absolute chaos, as people would not be able to control themselves as human beings. Only enlightened human beings can essentially govern themselves. Our generation unfortunately does not have enough enlightened individuals to promote the growth of a self governing society. Humanity should work towards creating a race of enlightened people for a revolution.
What I'm talking about is human advancement, first, then a revolution. I agree the world would turn into a circus if there were no government, but as humans we need to advance ourselves, to be able to morally and justly carry out our lives, and NOT to find ourselves with firearms killing women and innocent children. Like i said, our society today absolutely fit to carry out revolution, however, i believe that when we do reach this "ordered chaos" of ideal anarchism, we can finally be able to live peacefully. We as human beings just need to advance ourselves further, and in a way evolve on a psychological level.

It is not clear to me from your question how you might achieve this sense of enlightenment among the entire peoples of the world. And if you do not have an answer to that question, perhaps you are not as enlightened as you think you are.
Until you are genius enough to create this enlightened society through something other than a wish, I think we need to protest ourselves through laws from people who want to steal what we work for or blow us up for being infidels.

"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State."

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."
-- Julius Caesar
"Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day."

I agree with you 100% Anarchy would basically mean total freedom to do what ever a person wants. Even if it meant killing innocent people and breaking any existing law...sure it wouldn't be the right thing to do...however you would be free to do it..only if there was a breakdown in the governement, police and military.
However... Americans would panic the minute their cell phones and the internet go off-line. The United States would turn into a circus. It's coming too....just give it a few more years. I suggest picking up a firearm and make sure you have plenty of ammo.

If the people in your country are ready for democracy, then they're ready for anarchism. (Of course, I don't mean the misconstrued meaning of anarchism described by the other answers.) Anarchism is just the natural evolution of democracy when you try to solve the question of "two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner."
Anachism is democracy, but it protects the rights of the individual from the whims of the majority. It doesn't mean there's no government. People will still band together to protect each other's rights, so that would resemble a government. The main difference is that decisions that primarily affect one or a few people will be made by those who are affected the most, rather than by the majority. It is decentralized democracy. Anarchists would band together to protect their right to make those decisions.

Nothing very original here, as this has always been the far-off promise of Communism. Unfortunately there were tens of millions who, right or wrong, didn't agree with the plan and had to be killed on the road to utopia. Also, those already enlightened, the vanguard of the revolution, were corrupted by their power and became as bad as the old kings and dictators.

I have been wondering for a couple YEARS why someone with their head together hasn't started a revolution. Why hasn't he been impeached? I seriously want to know WHY?Cindy Sheehan did what she could but we need someone everyone can recognize and respect to lead us on this. It is too long in coming! What is wrong with us? We should have forced Bush out of office a looong time ago.

The problem with anarchism is it is not freedom.
Anarchism is living like animals, no government, police et.
There will always be agroup stronger than you who will kill you for your food or your women. If that sounds good to you then move to some place where you can live like that right now, go ahead, do it ..What are you waiting for?
And what will China do when America collapses? Just sit, watch and do nothing? Hey buddy, What do you think they are quietly building up their army for? Even Dick Cheney is alarmed at the Chinese build up. Old Dick knows they are just waiting for the moment of our maximum weakness and they will just walk in standing up.

How is pushing up daisies freedom?
Because that is what you'll be doing if you have anything anyone passing by you wants, during an anarchy.

I think it was Jefferson who said "If men could live without creating a government, they would've been doing it all along."
