    Go to: http://www.how-to-build-websites.com/

Use the navigation at left to view lessons.

I would recommend getting an HTML editor, if you don't already have one, so you don't have to do the coding yourself.

    Hi Hatty

I too was new to webdesign and I purchased a package from http://www.XSitePro.com.au

It's PERFECT if you want to learn website - not much more I can say really!

    Quote:

The concept behind XSitePro (XSite Pro) is very basic. The team behind XSitePro needed to create a software application that would allow users ranging from complete novices to seasoned professionals to create decent looking websites, quickly and easily. There was a clear gap in the market for an intuitative, almost 'clever' website design application. And boy did they create something good.

XSitePro (XSite Pro) offers an extremely well put together video training course when you first buy the software. This is crucial for those of us on the Internet who do not know how to design websites. It guides you through everything you will need to know and it is all explained simply and effectively. For the more experienced web designers out there, or for those who have a basic understanding of website design, the video tutorial can be skipped and replayed at another time. However, we recommend that the XSitePro video tutorial is a must for anyone using new software.

Another important thing to remember when considering whether to purchase XSitePro, is that aside from learning a new trade, you will never have to pay a web designer a cent ever again. It's so refreshing to produce your own websites, both quickly and easily, and to see them live - it's a rewarding experience.

    Hi

You want to try NetObjects Fusion. Version 9 is a free download or available as a PC magazine givaway and it is very easy to learn. As you add pages to your web site the navigation buttons are put in automatically. The program has many web page templates and there are a lot more free ones on their site. You will find it in Computer Magazine CDs, Computer Shopper was doing it last month.

Its the easiest web making program I have seen for years; give it a try.

    Regards

You can lean web design from online study materials such as w3school and other websites. If your designing is good and want to earn money from your design works then you can participate on crowdsourcing platform like http://www.designhill.com which have good features and numbers of designers.

It depends to you, for me best way is watching video tutorials (like lynda.com) however w3schools.com is very useful. But I think you should take a few courses (like web design, graphic design...) in a good college. As soon as you'll learn the basic, the rest is very easy...

    Good luck

Since you already have a yahoo account, your yahoo geocities should be free. Go to www.geocities.com and sign in with your yahoo username and password. They provide you with:

    Free Website

    File Manager

    Easy Upload

    Tutorials

    Web Tools.

Do this!! It's a place where you can practice and learn. It's how I learned.

There are many websites that give directions on writing HTML code.

One of the best sites is

    http://www.htmlgoodies.com

and another for general information on CSS is http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/tutorials/css/syntax.

You can use Notepad to write your own HTML Code and view your results in IE or Firefox.

It takes longer than a code generating program but you can really learn how to correct your mistakes in syntax and setup.
