thick balsamic vinigar dressing, what makes it thick?

what are all the ingredients in thick balsamic vinigar dressing, and how much, what makes it thick.

    Pectin blended in any dressing will make it thick.....try about 1 tablespoon.

    1 Tbsp dijon or whole grain mustard

    2 Tbsp balsamic

    1 tsp salt

    1/2 tsp pepper

    1/4 cup of olive oil

    I put these in my small chopper and process on high. It thickens it more than whisking does.

    olive oil usually is what makes it thick...whisk the oil and basalmic in equal amount add a bit of sugar (critical ingredient), a tablespoonish of dijon mustard, salt and pepper, and some fresh herbs of your choice...I like a little basil or garlic.

    balsamic vinegar (2 tablespoons)

    dijon mustard(1 tablespoon)


    olive oil(1/2 cup)

    salt&pepper(to taste)

    or if you just wanna thicken balsamic vinegar you can just cook it down,it will thicken on its own.

    you have to emulsify it to make it thick by slowly drizzling the oil into the vinager mixture as you whip it. rule of thumb for vinager/oil ratio is 1 to 3 parts

    Extra Virgen Olive Oil. thickens up great!!

    also flour thickens up anything without any flavor
