So you say you don't believe in God? Please read this...?

Romans 1:18-25 (NIV)

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men...since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him... Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. ...They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator who is forever praised. Amen.

There are some concepts within God you that do not believe need to come to grips with.

Any thoughts???

Update:

I would urge you all to read and study this 1st chapter of Romans in context from verse 18 thru the end of the chapter as Paul is describing, both comtemporarally and prophetically, exactly what was going on in his culture of the day and what is happening in our culture today.

I urge you all who are Christians to pray for this countries deliverance from the enemy, and if your not convinced we need deliverance, then pray for our Lords return.

Godd bless all and thanks for your time.

B :)

Update 3:

HEEEYYYYYY to All you Saints out there listen up!!!

We are not fighting a war of flesh and blood... and we are not fighting with weapons made by hands...

We are however called to fight in Gods war, Putting on His armor and having done all to stand.

So understand I don't care how many dont believe, My goal is to find the ones that might believe, and to use His Holy Word to convince them, By His Holy Spirit.

How can they know if they have not heard, and how can they hear if there is now one to preach?

Finally: I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for IT IS THE POWER UNTO SALVATION!!!....

There is nothing in me that is worthy of He grace, but He is worthy of all we have all we can do, all we can praise, all that we can say. In the face of so many trying to tear Or Lord Jesus Christ down, I will run to the front lines with others on this forum, and with His armor and His word I will speak it out. And try to do my part to be His hands for such a time as this.

Update 4:

And yes the Lord forgive us when we don't type so good either.

:)

Love all you people in Christ

al for now B

Update 5:

I believe I asked a rational question, and In some cases I got rational answers. In most casesd I got answers that confirm what I and many like me are fearful of hearing. 2 Cor 2:15-16

For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? (NIV)

One day the wrath of God will be poured out and many of you will be like these in Rev 6:16-17

They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” (NIV)

The context of this message is ther most important message you will hear in life. I leave it to the community at large to review and choose the best answer, for the sake of the Gospel, and of the word of Christ.

Thanks to all that answered & God Bless

Oooo, a threat! Some old farts from 2000 years ago say I should fear God's wrath.

Hmm, nope. That just doesn't do it for me. I don't fear old superstitions.

If God were really that plainly obvious, I wouldn't be an atheist. You have convinced me that you exist, and I haven't even met you. Surely, your god can be more convincing than that.

I'll actually try to respond to this kindly.

The most important point is that you cannot prove anything to non-believers (like me) with the Bible.

Let's throw that out the window for a moment, though. It seems you want to say that the proof is there because what was written has come to pass. What you need to understand is that there is nothing amazing about this passage. If the Bible were made up, the one(s) making it up would have easily realized that people would not see eye to eye with them. So again, you have not proven anything with the Bible...

Now I actually want to address the text. None of us has any knowledge of God, but even if we pretend that the religious do, the rest of us don't. We are not running or turning away from truth - we are looking for the truth. You have a book that tells you that God exists and did this and that without evidence, we use science and logic to understand things. It is not fair to speak of knowledge and wisdom as only available to you; after all, you do lack evidence, and, again, we are looking for the truth. We also do not worship anything resembling men, birds, reptiles, other animals... I don't see how people try to apply this to us today. We don't worship anything. Lastly - and this is now terribly redundant - we did not exchange the truth for a lie. If your God is the truth, we never had it or thought we did, so we couldn't exchange it anyway. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure science isn't a LIE. How can you prove that God didn't make things happen in such a way that science can understand? You're also using a computer (developed through science) to talk to us.

Sorry, but this kind of question really doesn't have much perspective. You are only thinking from your side, failing to even consider those of others.

Edit: By the way, I do not think that praying for Jesus to return is what God wants you to do. You're supposed to help out in the world today, not be afraid of it and always looking to the future.

The real universe has always been theoretically treated as an object, and specifically as the composite type of object known as a set. But an object or set exists in space and time, and reality does not. Because the real universe by definition contains all that is real, there is no "external reality" (or space, or time) in which it can exist or have been "created". We can talk about lesser regions of the real universe in such a light, but not about the real universe as a whole. Nor, for identical reasons, can we think of the universe as the sum of its parts, for these parts exist solely within a spacetime manifold identified with the whole and cannot explain the manifold itself. This rules out pluralistic explanations of reality, forcing us to seek an explanation at once monic (because nonpluralistic) and holistic (because the basic conditions for existence are embodied in the manifold, which equals the whole). Obviously, the first step towards such an explanation is to bring monism and holism into coincidence.

Yes, I have thoughts on this! Amen and preach the truth!

I do pray for this nation to repent and to turn back to God. If not, I fear that we will be just like the Roman Empire and go down the tubes!

I am so sorry for some of the answers you will receive but, you know that Jesus said it would be this way! I encourage you on, brother and God bless you for being a faithful servant!

Imjstbob, hmmmmm, you received some very frank answers with your input. While your intentions are good, you sure can't say you are preaching to a choir with those replies.

Perhaps the non-believers are as set in their disbelief as we are in our belief. God has given us, including the disbelievers the opportunity to make our own choice. That is His way so there isn't much we can do with them. There is one thing that we believers can all say:

"FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO."

Neither do they know just how serious their decision/s are and what the consequences will be. You tried. Pops

I hope you were not implying that many of us did not know this Pauline material already?

Is the concept of a Creator god coherent? It involves an infinite regress.

Do you have statistics that more disasters are meted out on non-Christians than on Christians? What is this wrath of God?

I could easily write a revelation that the wrath of FSM is being revealed against all non pastafarians.

I already know that those who do not believe in the son are condemned already (John 3:16ff). Even if there are darned good reasons not to believe?

Are threats all Christianity has to offer?

the bible scriptures are not gonna help the blind. they feel it was man made which half correct, they forget the part that it was Gods words and man just put it 2gether for us to live by. God also said that he gave them over to their depraved mind cause they refused to knowledge him. (Romans 1:28) the only thing you can do is pray for them. pray for their hearts and eyes to be open. we cant war with them! they dont know or choose not to believe. dont mean this bad but remember the verse (matt 7:6 )dont give dogs what is sacred; dont throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. i dont mean to hurt anyone im quoting from the bible.

The original disciples of Jesus hated Paul. They viewed him as ignorant about the teachings and life of Jesus and heretical in his beliefs. They kicked him out of their community and sent him to preach to the Gentiles. Since they also believed that the teachings of Jesus were meant for the Jews, not the Gentiles, this was obviously just their attempt to get rid of him.

If modern Christianity was truly based on the teachings of Jesus, it would not contain the writings of Paul as part of its "sacred" text.

I pray daily for all of those who reject, mock, and scorn Gods word that He will open their hearts and minds so they may truly know Him and the peace, joy, and fullfillment He brings to our lives. God bless you and all others on here who are willing to take all their scorn and continue to post Gods word. We can plant the seed, pray for it to take root and grow, and leave them in Gods hands. If only one person comes to true knowledge of Gods love from the posting of His words here, then all the angels of heaven will be rejoicing for the salvation of that one lost soul. God bless you in your efforts.

A testament against idolatry. I am not sure though how you think this testament proves your point.

It is fruitless to think that words alone will change a persons behavior. If I tell my child that smoking is bad for you, and then light up at every opportunity, chances are not good that he/she will take me seriously. Righteous attacks on who we perceive as ungodly or sinful does not convey our message adequately.

Why do you people think that quoting endless inane passages from your story book is somehow going to make others think any differently. Do you think that none of us have read it? You are sorely mistaken in that belief along with all your others.

We do not have to come to grips with anything, least of all a belief in imaginary friends. Something that only children have, and usually only lonely and depressed ones. But even they grow out of it. perhaps it is about time YOU came to grips with that.
